I installed on my eee PC 1000 HA using gNewSense operating system. But, I don't know how to configure the wireless connection on my eee PC laptop.
i'm using gcc 4.3.2 that comes with debian lenny.

however, i'm neither experienced nor interested in the proprietary nvidia driver, so i won't be much help to you.

I have a question: which version of 'gcc' did you use? 4.2 or 4.3 ?
'Cause I've got a problem installing Nvidia driver on 2.6.29 kernel taken from here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/
There is a warning about different versions of 'gcc', hence some modules are rejected by the kernel (I think so because I cannot get vga=795 verbose mode to work during booting, just a black screen). Seems to me that its a problem with vesafb/fbcon, but I tried to add them and updated initramfs... all in vain.
Any suggestions?

you can find the .config inside the linux-image*.deb which is basically a compressed file.

and yes, it's the same config for all distros since config defines how the kernel was built.
